Movie Theater
Tickets Reservation
Making the path from picking a film to grabbing your snacks feel as good as the movie itself.
This came to me when I booked some tickets online with my phone. The experience wasn't smooth, and the interface wasn't visually pleasing at all. I designed a quick flow to share an idea of the interactions and a much-improved interface.
I chose classic movie-theatre colours, muted, over a not-quite-black background. It could belong to a single old cinema or a chain across a city. Same reason as BlueClean, really. I wanted to make something that felt good to look at and still worked.
The flow opens on the film, session and location in one glance, then hands you a bird's-eye seat map with a tactile selection state. Two taps from title to seats.
Ticket selection · seat map
Snacks are reserved as you book your seats: a combo deal up top, then popcorn, soda and candies added inline, so the whole night is sorted before you reach the cinema.
Combo deal · item customisation
An app that earns the anticipation of going to the cinema.
Delivered as an interactive Figma prototype covering the full flow: tickets, seats, snacks, and checkout, with every state designed to hand straight to development.
